AYS is expanding our volunteer program and looking for energetic volunteers of all ages and skill-types who want to connect with young people in a meaningful way. Below is just a sample of the many ways you can change young people's lives. Hip Hop for Health Fairs: Be an important part of our Hip Hop for Health Fairs!  These fairs are a great way for AYS and other community organizations to reach Wyandotte County youth with vital health information and services.  Learn More About This Opportunity...

 

AYS Academy Tutor: Many students act out in school because they feel frustrated with their poor academic performance.  Come help us stop that vicious cycle as we help long-term suspended students catch up before they return to their district school! Guest Arts & Crafts Instructor: Arts and crafts are not only a form of leisure; they also help young people build confidence and express themselves in positive ways. Basketball (& Life) Coach: The students at AYS Academy visit the local YMCA weekly as a form of physical education.  Our youth love to spend time at the "Y" playing basketball, and want older adults to help them improve their basketball skills.  Come spend time with our youth as they have fun in a positive way!  Learn More About This Opportunity...

 

Life Skills Guest Speaker: Pass on your life skills to members of a younger generation!  Our youth need guidance in many areas, from money management to education planning.  We need knowledgeable adults who can speak to our clients about a useful life skill.
