Referrals / Admission:
To be admitted to AYS Academy, students must:

● Live within USD 500 (Kansas City, KS school district)
● Be long-term suspended (90-180 days)
● Be referred through the Office of Alternative Education Placement in USD 500

If your child does not meet these criteria, he or she will not be able to attend AYS Academy.

Get Involved:
AYS Academy is looking for energetic volunteers to present lessons to students, particularly hands-on lessons like art, crafts, dance or music. We are also looking for adult role models to play basketball at the YMCA with our students. Volunteer tutors are always welcome. If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of our youth, we will find a way to fit you in!

Check the Get Involved page for more information about volunteering and career opportunities at AYS.
