Program Summary: The GED preparation program for youth, ages 16 - 21 years old, is a highly personalized component of AYS Academy. While preparing participants to pass the GED is our primary focus, we also want our participants to be prepared for the next step in their lives, whether that is a job training program, college or employment. Therefore, our program also offers job readiness and life skills training.
Hours: Monday - Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - Noon.
Location: AYS Academy is conveniently located at Associated Youth Services' main office building in downtown Kansas City, Kansas at the southwest corner of 8th Street and Armstrong: 803 Armstrong Avenue, Lower Level Kansas City, KS 66101 Free parking is available in our lot to the west of our building, and we are located just one block from major bus stops. Fees: There is no cost for AYS Academy's GED instruction time.
Eligibility: To be eligible for AYS Academy's GED preparation program, you must:
Be a Kansas resident.
Be between the ages of 16 and 21.
Not be enrolled in a high school.
Not currently have a high school diploma or a GED.
