Research shows that people who begin drinking before age 15 are four times more likely to develop alcohol dependence at some time in their lives compared with those who have their first drink at age 20 or older.
So go ahead, choose one.
Program Summary:
ADAPT (Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Prevention/Treatment) services is a drug and alcohol treatment program for youth in Wyandotte County. The program offers:
1. Intensive outpatient treatment services, in which youth attend peer group sessions daily
2. Outpatient treatment services, in which youth attend peer group sessions three times per week
3. Outpatient diagnostic, referral and assessment services
ADAPT also offers Family Impact Sessions as a supportive service for parents and caregivers, drug prevention and education services, and continuing care services for those youth who have completed a treatment episode or for those needing a lower level of care. Transportation and case management services are offered as well. For more information about ADAPT, please read our brochure.

Referrals / Admission:
Youth may either be referred by the court, by their schools or by their families.

ADAPT is always looking for energetic, youth-oriented volunteers to make a difference in the lives of our youth by giving presentations in areas like substance use, mentoring, entrepreneurship, music, gangs, higher learning, video making, or other subjects of interest to youth.
